Serbian Cabbage

medium head cabbage

(13 oz) evaporated milk

dry bread crumbs

Chop cabbage. Put into casserole dish. Mix bread crumbs with salt and pepper; set aside. Melt 1/4 cup of butter with evaporated milk. Pour over cabbage. Cover and bake 30 minutes at 350°.

Meanwhile, melt the other 1/4 c of butter and add bread crumbs to butter. Take casserole out of oven after the initial 30 minutes. Sprinkle bread crumbs evenly over cabbage. Cover and return to oven and bake 15-30 minutes more until milk is absorbed.
